Its been number 50++ days since the first day of lockdown in Malaysia…

Friends have been asking what I have done, aside from doing some casual cooking with my husband. Oh yes, we did, tried different recipes in the first 2 weeks, indeed. Kitchen — living hall for Netflix and Youtube — the bedroom and sleep. Eat-sleep-play-repeat! But, what else? We should take this opportunity to upgrade ourselves, to prepare for a new world after this pandemic.

  1. ONLINE MASTERCLASS

Gazillions of Youtube/Facebook marketing gurus popping up during this lockdown, teaching you on “how to grow your business through Facebook marketing. If you realized that Udemy, Futurelearn, World Masterclass were all putting on their ever world record’s promotions to get more students. Even my mum is taking one of the bakery courses. I then, signed up a few online courses to learn more about business and leads generations. Who wouldn’t know the power of “Internet” and “Digital” right now? Time to learn some new tech stuff, now you can ask me, what is Trello, Slack, Firebase, Hotjar, Facebook Engagement and Conversion Ads, I can give you a private tutorial!

2. FANS INTERACTION

We found this new platform that is recently popular amongst the local influencers which was just newly launched on the April Fool’s day. However, not to be fooled, this platform has currently up to 300 on-boarded talents!

“Shoutout” is a personalized video platform in Southeast Asia, practically focusing in Malaysia and Singapore right now, offering fans a fun and easy way to connect with their favorite celebrities, including athletes, musicians, actors, and key influencers. The online platform allows users to request celebrities to make personalized video messages dedicated to them or their friends. From birthday and good luck messages, to date invitations, marriage proposals, baby gender reveals, job offers, and even words of inspiration from these celebrities, the possibilities are creatively endless.

Thus, I started signing up as talent too! Fulfilling some video bookings and get some groceries money.

3. SPRING CLEANING

Time to clear the junks at home. Old books, clothes, collectibles, DVDs. How often could we be to stay at home to clear those unfinished wines, and listen to some old CDs? Whilst lots of the people out there are willingly to purchase cheaper stuff, and willingly to read your descriptions thoroughly. And, if you realized, the cost of advertising on social media has decreased due to higher inventory, but audience are as actively browsy as usual. With lots platform doing sales in during this pandemic period.

Well I guess I managed to make around RM300 bucks for my little garage sales!

4. CHARITY DONATION

Let’s give back to our community and donate to the charity. This Boost app is creating campaign to encourage the users to donate yet to receive Boost credits. Donations will go out to fund medical care, medical equipment, humanitarian aid, educations, children, the elderly… Plus this holy month of Ramadan is about giving :)

If one could notice, this pandemic reminds everyone of us to stop staying in the comfort zone, but keep moving. Aren’t we up on the digital trend, to live in the digital era? Gear up for the new lease of life,

There are always opportunities in every crisis! So, stop lamenting about your current situation, its time to change.
